An alligator snapping turtle estimated to weigh 200 pounds and be over 100 years old was caught on Lake Mitchell and it looks like a dinosaur.
A man named Wes Prewett is credited, somehow and some way, with catching and releasing a giant alligator snapping turtle from Blue Creek on Lake Mitchell near Clanton, Alabama.
The photos of the beast show the man in question standing over the big snapper and also posing with it in a boat with his face dangerously close to the animal's mouth!
The pictures were shared by Prewett's sister Joanna Sanders and posted on the Southern Boyz Outdoors Facebook page.
In one photo the man is seen standing over the turtle where the giant menacing head and mouth can be perfectly seen in all its glory.
The shell on that thing is enormous and there's no telling how long that beast has been growing, but just knowing that it's back in the water living free is great... unless you plan on swimming in Lake Mitchell anytime soon.
Big thanks to these folks for sharing!
