Finally, handgun license holders are getting treated right.
In breaking news out of Indianapolis, Indiana, handgun license holders that eat inside Papa Roux, located on the city's east side, will receive a 25 percent discount off their meal just for legally eating with their gun while they conceal and carry.
Art Bouvier, the owner of the restaurant, is sending out a message loud and clear to the criminal community that might see his place of business as an easy target.
"I don't want Papa Roux to turn into the O.K. Corral," Bouvier told the Indianapolis Star, "but I don't want to be an easy target."
"If thugs are going to come in and threaten OUR extended family with guns, you'd better believe I will use every trick I know to protect [our family]," Bouvier went on to write on his Facebook page after he learned of the robbery at his restaurant.
The employees of Papa Roux stated that customers in the restaurant had no idea they were even being robbed until after the robber left. The robber told one of the employees that he had a gun and needed all the money they had.
"I've told my employees that money is replaceable, your lives are not," said Bouvier. "Everyone is a little shaken up today; my manager can't shake the feeling of helplessness, but I don't want her to fear this happening again."
"We're not saying, 'Show us your gun.' But if you're a legal and stable carrier of a (handgun license), I'm going to reward that. To me, it's common sense," Bouvier said. And until further notice, you'll get 25 percent off your bill."
Let this story be a warning to everyone. You never know when you may need your weapon, and even though others may not admit it, they are counting on you to protect them, as well, should the situation ever arise.
We bet that no criminal in their right mind will ever think of walking back into Papa Roux again.
Responsible gun owners, we thank you.
