Bush and Putin go fishing at Walker's Point.
According to former president George W. Bush's recently published book, "41: A Portrait of My Father," Bush and Putin went on a fishing trip together in 2007. In this new book, he reveals that he asked his father to invite Russian President Putin to his home at Walker's Point.
President George H.W. Bush happily obliged and invited the Russian president over for a fun fishing trip. They went on a speedy boat ride driven by former president George H.W. Bush which apparently made Putin's translator on edge. After all, president George H.W. Bush was 83 years old at the time.
Out of all three of them, Putin was the only one who caught a fish that day. They discussed a variety of topics including Poland's missile defense systems and the Czech Republic.
Two years later Russia and the United States attempted to regain amicable relations, but we all know where that stands now.
