Hornady ELD Match Bullets Offer Unprecedented Performance

Hornady's match-grade ammo, ELD Match Bullets, offer the highest ballistic coefficient in their class.

With rapid improvements in technology touching every sector of American life, it's hard for any company to keep up with their respective market's trends.

The shooting industry is no different, either, as firearm and ammunition manufacturers continue to reinvent the wheel, forcing competitors to step outside of the box just to maintain an edge on the market.

As a result, the industry-wide whirlwind of innovation produces as many revolutionary products as it does far-reaching, bound-to-be-forgotten concepts. It's tough to battle inside against a forever-evolving market.

Hornady is one of the few companies to stay ahead of the pack year after year, and they came through once again with the new ELD Match bullets.

Using Hornady's Heat Shield tips and PERFECT MEPLAT tip points, the ELD (Extremely Low Drag) Match bullets offer elite accuracy and extreme consistency, as wells the highest-in-class ballistic coefficients.

Thanks to the combo of the Heat Shield tip and PERFECT MEPLAT tip point, the ELD Match bullet type is immune to aerodynamic heating, allowing the bullet to hold its shape through the entire flight.

To improve accuracy and consistency, the bullets also sport a streamlined secant ogive with optimum boattail design, as well as highly concentric AMP bullet jackets.

The origins of Hornady's Heat Shield Technology date all the way back to 2012, when the company entrusted its engineers with designing new rifle bullets that would satisfy hunters as well as precision shooters who wanted to extend their long range feats past 400 yards without compromising other numerous design features.

Available offerings range from a 73-grain round in .223 to a .50 BMG, 750-grain ELD Match Bullet.

To ensure performance, the ELD Match's high ballistic coefficients are measured using Doppler radar and corrected to standard atmospheric conditions. In translation, it produces superior accuracy with a sophisticated manufacturing process and rigorous quality assurance.

"We now have a bullet that will have a precise ballistic constant form that is unmatched by any of our competitors," Hornady President Steve Hornady said.

That's the sort of standard we like to see set.
