These hunters use jet skis in Alaska to hunt bears in the early spring, and are able to really move around the bays and rivers.
We have all likely heard of people using jet skis to get into those hard-to-reach areas for fishing, but these guys use them for early spring bear hunting in Alaska.
That is “out-of-the-box” thinking and likely a great way to scout and cover long distances.
While they did not get any bears in their sights, this is definitely an interesting way to get around. Jet skis, when in low throttle, can also be pretty quiet so these hunters may be on to a good method to scout the bays and river inlets along the Alaskan coast.
Boat and jet boats have been used for years to get bear hunters and anglers into prime hunting and fishing locations, but this is the first I have seen of using jet skis.
Might be worth a try, but I imagine these hunters are well layered in clothing and waterproof outerwear. I’m sure they know what they are doing to stay out of trouble from exposure.
