Female shooters have unique inspiration in one small Indian town, and these ‘Gunslinger Grannies’ are transcending the norms.
Prakashi Tomar is a 74-year-old grandmother who learned shooting from visiting a small range in her native Uttar Pradesh, India. ‘Shooter Daadi,’ as she’s known in North india, routinely beats men in shooting competitions.
Together with her 79-year-old sister, Tomar has inspired women shooters to pick up the sport and transcend expectations.
Their story is incredible, and has led to three generations of female shooters in their family, and a whole new generation of Olympic shooters in the region.
