A whale-watching group got a once-in-a-lifetime thrill when a massive finback showed up to say hi.
Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A group of French tourists, taking part on a whale tour near Tadoussac, Quebec on July 31, certainly got their money's worth when a massive finback whale surfaced at boat side.
The finback whale, also called a fin whale, is the second-largest animal on earth - ranging in length from 65 to 88 feet. Only the blue whale is larger.
The screams of delight these lucky spectators give sums up the experience perfectly.
Imagine watching in amazement - and a bit of apprehension - as this massive whale approaches, opening its mouth wide, and all just mere feet away? Definitely a story for the water cooler.
