For those of us who are just trying to get the hang of fly fishing, there’s only one type of cast—the one that gets the fly in the water.
More experienced fly casters can try the tuck cast.
It looks simple enough (with experience), and it looks like an effective method to getting a heavier fly into a water column quickly.
According to the presenter, nymph anglers should use this cast in order to get the fly to sink more quickly and to float more naturally to attract the fish.
