Ever heard of Guyana? Unless you regularly watch “River Monsters” on The Discovery Channel, probably not.
Guyana is a country in South America, which lies east of Brazil. The locals are friendly and the country is English-speaking. The host of this video catches piranha, piara and arapaima. The arapaima is an absolute monster. Sorry Jeremy, but I think he might have you beat.
The video is posted by Deer Meat for Dinner, a couple based out of Jupiter, Florida. Check this adventurous twosome out.
I have a lot of respect for the angler making sure to remove the hook. That fish could have broken his arm had it shaken its head as violently as it’s capable of. It took patience and guts to pull that off.
Arapaima are extremely powerful fish. The skulls of these ancient river dwellers are like battering rams, as the aforementioned river monster angler of television found out the hard way years ago filming an episode.
The footage showed beautiful habitat with giant waterfalls and tropical forests. The rivers are teeming with giant, rare fish and the locals are friendly.
What are you waiting for?
