Been looking for the best tutorial on how to debone a deer? Look no further.

Butchering your own deer is one of the most rewarding experiences of a successful deer harvest. There's just something so relaxing about preparing your own meat.

Call us crazy, but we wouldn't spend a Saturday any other way if we had the choice. Tackling the task of cutting down your own deer is not up everyone's alley though, but what if you knew of a way to cut down on the amount of time it usually takes?

This video, uploaded by Kurt Heid of Heid's Wild Game Cutting, is an example of true deer meat mastery, and may help you learn a thing or two for the next time you're packing out your deer. The ease with which he runs his blade along the seams of the muscles and expertly removes meat some hunters would pass on is nothing short of awe-inspiring.

He really makes it look so easy, but imagine how many deer this guy has processed. Probably in the thousands. One thing to note about this is his obvious knowledge of the animal's anatomy. By studying where muscles connect and the function of each joint, he's able to cut down on a considerable amount of time that's usually spent guessing where your blade should go next.

As always, anytime you're working with a knife it needs to be sharp, which is obviously the case for the reasonably priced boning knife Heid uses in the video.
