Get out a box of tissues and watch this son’s tribute to his fly fishing father.
The first time William Meyer showed this film to his father, he felt a little uneasy since he hadn’t met the man until he was eight years old. But it is not always blood that binds us. His dad thought the video was so good he wanted it to be played at his funeral, which took place in 2011.
Watch the video to see Will’s tribute to the man he called his father.
Will’s video celebrating his father’s passion for fly fishing is a perfect reminder to all of us dads that our children are watching.
Even when they would rather throw rocks at the fish that just rose to the surface or run screaming in front of the native brookie you’ve just pointed out in a mountain stream, they are learning. Act as you would like them to act and maybe one day your son or daughter will make a Father’s Day film celebrating you and your passions.
Happy Father’s Day and good luck on the water.
