Looking for a hog? Head for the mats!
If you want to catch giant bass (and who doesn't?), you need to fish where giant bass live. In many lakes, that's going to be where the food lives.

As spring transitions to summer, vegetation begins to attract more and more of the food bass ate. And the biggest bass will locate in those areas with the most abundant food. That's the slop.
If you're going to tangle with big fish in that kind of cover, you'll want to make sure your gear is up to the challenge. Heavy flipping sticks, brawny baitcasting gear and braided line are the name of the game. Slop it in and hold on.
