Indianapolis is debating the practices of canned hunts on private hunting preserves.
State representative Sean Eberhart is supporting a bill that would limit and regulate Indiana's four hunting preserves. Right now, there are no regulations for canned hunts on these private areas.
Many opponents simply want the practice eliminated and banned from Indiana. They claim it contributes to the spread of chronic wasting disease.
The Humane Society of the United States disapproves of the freak show bucks that come from private preserves like these. Many hunters are on the fence about these private hunting ranches that breed deer for larger antlers.
The committee hasn't voted on this bill yet.
