Looking for a way to store extra gear on your adventures? Then the Cache Belt from Wazoo is exactly what you have been looking for.
As adventurers, we like to be as prepared as possible for anything that can happen in the backwoods. While most of us carry emergency supplies in our bags, there is always a chance that we may become separated from them. You could always build the old Altoids tin kit to keep in your pocket, or you could store it all in your belt.
The guys over at Wazoo Survival Gear have created the Cache Belt, the ultimate everyday, travel, and adventure belt. This crazy belt houses a 28-inch pocket that allows quick and easy storage of any item up to 1.5 inches wide.
It is made of tough, 1,500-pound tested nylon webbing and sports an adjustable cam belt buckle with a built-in bottle opener.
The belts are currently available if you choose to back the Kickstarter. They have already been funded well above and beyond their goal, so at this point, you're pretty much grabbing one at a discount. You can pick between three styles.
Minimalist: $25 (Save $5 off retail.)
This comes with just the bare basics. The belt, buckle, gear loops, and bead chain.
Essentials: $50 (Save $25 off retail.)
This one comes pre-loaded with:
- Fishing kit
- Safety pins and needle
- Zip ties
- Duct tape
- Ferro rod with striker
- Water container with purification tabs
- F.A.T. packs
Adventure: $95 (Save $40 off retail.)
This version comes with everything from the Essential, plus:
- Water pre-filter
- Aluminum foil
- Ceramic knife
- Trail markers
- Signal mirror
- Brass wire
These are pretty much capable of holding anything you could need to survive, except a shelter. Give these guys some time, and I'm sure they'll figure that one out as well.
Wazoo will begin production on the belts as soon as their campaign ends. They expect all orders to be shipped out in January 2017.
If you wanted to give one as a Christmas gift, don't worry: they have that covered. When checking out, you can add it on as a gift. They will send a package to the receiver with information about the belt and a special fire tinder holiday card.
Whether you're a gear head, preparedness freak, or just someone looking for an alternative to store things while traveling, you are going to want one of these.
