Brad Pitt Has Liked Guns Since He Got His First One…in Kindergarten

Brad Pitt, the box office mega-star, has a great respect for guns.

Brad Pitt has stared in many roles as an action hero and anti-hero, but his handling of firearms is not just left to the blank firing movie guns on the set. When he is home with his wife, Angelina Jolie, and their children, he feels a gun in the house is necessary for protection, as reported by the Radio Times.

“There’s a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestors’ weapons,” Pitt said, “My brother got my dad’s. I got my grandfather’s shotgun when I was kindergarten.” He was born in Oklahoma and later raised in Missouri.

Recently quoted in the IndependentPitt went on to say “The positive is that my father instilled in me a profound and deep respect for the weapon.”
