A Blonde and a Great White Shark Go Swimming [VIDEO]

No, that’s not the start of a bad joke; it’s what happens in this amazing video.

If you think the trainers who swim with orcas at SeaWorld are impressive, this woman will blow your mind.

You’re about to watch free diver and shark conservationist Ocean Ramsey swim with a massive great white.

Why on Earth would Ramsey do such a thing? As a diver and surfer who grew up in Hawaii and San Diego, Ramsey has been sharing the waters with sharks for most of her life. She teamed up with GoPro to make this video as a way to draw attention to great white conservation and to show people that sharks aren’t the vicious man-eaters they’re often portrayed as on TV and in films.

There’s more info about Ramsey below the video, but right now, you’ve got to see this.

More incredible shark videos:

On her website, Ramsey described what it’s like to swim with sharks.

“In truth, sharks are intelligent, calculated, and generally very cautious about approaching humans,” she wrote. “It’s difficult to express the incredible joy and breathtaking emotion experienced locking eyes with a great white.”

According to Ramsey’s site, there are less than 3,500 great white sharks left in the world’s oceans.
