Deep Sea "Alien" Fish Found on Ocean Surface [PICS]

Via Imgur/wolfboyx

This bizarre creature looks like the chest burster from the Alien movies, but it's a real creature from Earth's oceans.

Reddit user wolfboyx found this bizarre fish a month ago on the surface of the ocean where sperm whales were diving. After the pics were posted online, experts identified it as a black dragonfish, a deep-dwelling creature. Mature black dragonfish are rarely found on the ocean surface, because they typically live at depths of 5,000 to 7,000 feet. These bizarre fish have bioluminescent nodes along their body that allow them to glow in the dark.

While these fish look terrifying, they're not much of a threat to humans and most other game fish, as they can only grow up to 15 inches long.
