This baby raccoon got a second chance at life - thanks to some quick-thinking rescuers and a lifejacket.
Things looked pretty bleak for a baby raccoon that was spotted tirelessly swimming in Rock Hall, Maryland. In a video shared on Reddit, the uploader believes the water-logged critter may have been swimming for several hours throughout the night until help finally arrived.
With some quick-thinking on the part of folks on a boat, a lifejacket attached to a rope was tossed to the animal - and probably just in time. As you'll see, the little guy collapses on the floatation device - thankful that his day in the water is finally over.
It certainly was great to see the inflatable boat tow the little raccoon to safety at the end of that clip.
A heartwarming story that luckily had a happy ending. My guess is this raccoon will be sticking to dry land for the foreseeable future!
