The Avtoros Shaman is a Russian all-terrain vehicle with durability to spare. At least we know there will be some Russians surviving the zombie apocalypse.
Somewhat similar to the Ripsaw EV-2, the Avtoros Shaman 8x8 looks like it's designed to go just about anywhere. This Russian-made off-road, all-terrain, zombie apocalypse vehicle is a killer.
A vehicle like this gets attention, and it's gotten some attention over here on this side of the globe. But first, let's just watch a little bit of it on the screen.
Hi Consumption calls the Avtoros Shaman "the end all, be all for ATVs." This 2.5-ton beast can handle any terrain from mud and snow to floating on water. The vehicle is powered by an Iveco F1C 3.0-liter turbo diesel, that runs 146-horsepower through a 6-speed manual gearbox.
"The 8-wheel drive Shaman has three different steering systems, allowing the driver (from the captain's chair) the ability to switch between On-Road (front 4-wheel drive), Off-Road (active rear wheel steering), and Crab Mode (turns all 8 wheels in sync to move sideways)."
The crab-crawling vehicle has a top speed of around 50 mph. It's not made for running away from zombies; it's made for running over them...no matter where they are. It takes around two months to custom build an Avtoros Shaman, so there a number of customization or stylistic things that can be done to the vehicle.
The interior is pretty cool too, with a cockpit of sorts for the driver: a center console not unlike the cockpit in a fighter jet (though with fewer dials). Behind the driver's seat are six bucket seats, or it can be converted to remove the seats and have an empty interior. The Avtoros Shaman can carry one-and-a-half tons of gear and cargo.
You've seen the exterior in the video. Check out these images of the interior:
