80-Foot Yacht Runs Aground on Palm Beach

An 80-foot yacht ran aground after a boater had too many Long Island Iced Teas.

It was a very early Wednesday morning, and an inebriated boater missed the Palm Beach inlet. Result? An 80-foot yacht, referred to as "Time Out," runs aground, washing up on Palm Beach at 2:15 a.m. The boater claimed he'd had too many Long Island Iced Teas.

The Belle Isle, Forida, native was arrested after the U.S. Coast Guard received reports early in the morning of a yacht that had run aground.

Thomas Henry Baker, 63, "failed to navigate his vessel into Palm Beach inlet and ran the vessel into the beach." As if it wasn't obvious enough.

However, towboats responded to the scene, and thankfully, nobody was injured in the incident.

Moral of the story? Don't run nice boats onto the beach! But really, be smart when you're out on the water navigating vessels, especially large boats such as this one.

Next time, maybe Thomas won't confuse the inlet with the beach.
