Deputies discover thousands of stolen weapons and other property in man's house.
Sheriff's deputies in Chesterfield County, South Carolina went to a man's house to serve him a subpoena.
When they noticed some property that appeared to be stolen, they found out it was just the tip of the iceberg.
The raid on Brent Nicholson's home began on Friday and it took deputies hours to sift through the thousands of items of stolen property. "We honestly passed guns from one person to the other as fast as you could for nine straight hours," Chesterfield County Sheriff Jay Brooks told WBTV 3.
In addition to the nearly 10,000 firearms, deputies also found almost 150 chainsaws and 200-300 taxidermy mounts. Additional warrants are planned to be drawn up for other properties owned by Nicholson and his family.
Deputies plan to try and find the rightful owners of all the property. If you had firearms, equipment or a mount stolen, you will have to prove ownership of it to get it back.
It's not immediately clear why the man hoarded all the stolen firearms, but it's good to know they're out of his possession and can be returned to their rightful owners.
