Showing off for grandma results in a monster-sized muskie for this lucky seven-year-old lad.
Sometimes showing off for grandma can reap BIG rewards. That was certainly the case for seven-year-old Jack Morrison, of Bemidji, Minnesota, when he tied into a monster muskie while showing his grandma how far he could cast.
The action took place June 4 on Lake Bemedji while the youngster fished from a dock. The 45-inch muskie hit a Rapala lure thrown on eight-pound test line. As you can imagine, quite the battle erupted - and once hearing the commotion from inside - his Uncle Andy rushed out to help with the landing.
The beaming smile on Jack's face says it all. That's what the future of fishing is about.
After a few quick photos, the fish was released to do battle another day. One thing is certain though - it's going to be hard to top that one when trying to impress grandma again!
