TheState.com ran more on the story, reporting that it was first seen at South Beach near mile marker 10 about 8 a.m. Monday.
It took 40 minutes to restrain the nearly 800-pound gator, and though South Carolina Department of Natural Resources regulations typically say gators captured this way are to be destroyed, the management crew mentioned they would push for relocation.
