A burglar picked the wrong house; one with an 11-year-old who knew how to yield a shotgun.
In Lapeer County, Michigan an 11-year-old girl was home alone when an unknown vehicle pulled into her driveway. She heard a knock at the door, but did not answer. The knocking continued on all the exterior doors of the home. While hiding in the bedroom, she eventually heard the burglar force his way into the home, and that's when this 11-year-old hid in the closet.
But she was not alone...
When the burglar made his way to the closet where she was hiding, he opened the door and found himself staring down the barrel of a shotgun, and quickly decided to leave the home.
The young girl was not harmed.
The benefit of teaching your kids how to use firearms, whether it's for hunting or just for personal defense, might end up saving their life. Luckily for this young girl, her father is an avid outdoorsman and has shown her how to properly use a shotgun.
It's also a good idea to prepare your children for what to do in a scenario such as this, because it could mean life or death.
