10 Biggest Fish Caught in Michigan [PICS]

Sometimes, size does matter, especially when it comes to fishing.

The waters in Michigan have produced some monster fish, as the 10 biggest fish on record show.

Just one look at this list of the largest fish on record and you'll understand why anglers come from near and far to experience the best Michigan fishing has to offer.

Quite a few of these fish have gone unchallenged without a new state record in quite some time.

8. 46.06-pound Chinook Salmon

9. 41.45-pound Brown Trout

Caught in 2009 on the Manistee River in Manistee County.

10. 46.54-pound Black Buffalo

According to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, this record was just broken last year via bowfishing methods on the Grand River in Ottawa County. Pictured is the previous record, a 41-pounder taken in 2014.

Fishing in Michigan can be amazing and there is your proof. Plenty of other Michigan fishing records like the northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and coho salmon have stood for over 40 years or more. It's only a matter of time before those records are broken. Maybe you can make this list one day.
