You’ve Never Seen a Reindeer Migration Quite Like This

Hitch a ride on a drone for a stunning bird’s eye view of a reindeer migration.

A reindeer migration is one of the most epic journeys in nature. Some species of reindeer travel up to 3,000 miles over the course of a year during migration!

A reindeer migration usually covers about 12-34 miles a day. Some of those miles can be covered at impressive speeds as reindeer can reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. The drone footage below shows a unique view of a reindeer migration.

The herd seems to ebb and flow almost like a school of fish. It really is a remarkable display.

With some encouragement from some people on snowmobiles, the herd eventually forms a reindeer river and heads off towards their destination.

Sometimes it is hard to believe that things like this are occurring in nature while we are going about our lives. Really makes you think.
