You’re Not a Real Fisherman Until You’ve Waited out a Hailstorm, Right?

Daily Star

Heading out when the weather is bad separates the men from the boys, the real fisherman from the weak, if you will.

These fishermen in China got quite the surprise when they set up their lines for a quiet day of fishing when the hailstorm from hell arose.

It’s monsoon season in China, though, so they came prepared with umbrellas. I’m not sure that’s enough to protect them from the tennis-ball sized hail, but the video proves that they stuck it out.

At this point, the fishing was shot and the fishermen were just plain soaked. This wasn’t even the worst of it, though, as thunder is heard in the background and remember, where there is thunder, there’s lightning.

The next time you find yourself fishing in adverse conditions, it’s best to just head inside. A real fisherman is no good if they’re struck by lightning.
