The Wisconsin deer hunting gun season is off to a great start after a successful opening weekend.
The Midwest is one of the best regions in the country to hunt trophy whitetail deer. The state of Wisconsin is right in the heart of the Midwest and has a lot of hunters and a lot of deer to hunt. Trophy deer are not uncommon in Wisconsin and the hunters are well aware of that fact.
The news report in the video below says that over 828,000 Wisconsin hunters have purchased deer hunting licenses for the 2015-16 season. That is an increase of 12,000 licenses from the previous year. It is definitely good to see an increase in license sales for any state.

The unofficial count for deer harvested on Wisconsin’s opening deer gun weekend was right around 18,000 according to the Wisconsin Division of Natural Resources.
That is a great start to the season for Wisconsin hunters as they try to harvest more than the 222,588 deer that were killed last season.
