Who would have thought you could use an actual iPhone fishing lure and successfully catch a fish?
For whatever reason, this guy in Australia decided to see if he could catch a fish with an iPhone fishing lure he made by attaching a treble hook to an old, broken iPhone. He then took his new fishing lure out a beach in Western Australia and started surf fishing.
Watch the video to see how it all went down.
As you can see in the video, he was successful in catching an Australian Salmon (which isn’t related to North American Salmon) using his iPhone fishing lure. While just how long it took him to catch that fish was unclear (I doubt he caught it on the first cast), it does seem like he did indeed catch a fish using the lure like he said he did.
When you really think about it, using an iPhone as a fishing lure isn’t as crazy as it sounds. The way he had it set up is similar to the “flasher” used by many anglers when trying to catch big fish.
That being said, I would be cautious about actually using an iPhone fishing lure though. There are some hazardous materials in iPhones that you shouldn’t be putting in the water.
