Wild Turkeys Find a New Home in Montana

These wild turkeys now have a new home.

Relocated to Montana, these turkeys will help boost the population.

Learn how the National Wild Turkey Federation and other groups have relocated these big birds to Montana.

Montana's Missouri river is now home to 125 new feathered residents. These turkeys from Nebraska will now allow local populations to grow in the area.

Last year 91 turkeys were released in another area. It is hoped those birds and the newly transported turkeys will find each other and establish a good breeding population.

Game animal relocation projects such like this have allowed turkeys and other species to thrive in areas where they have not been found in many decades. Hats off to the men and women that have brought back the wild turkey to our forests and fields.
