Throw together these easy venison sausage balls for the big game this weekend.
These tiny treats are an easy way to utilize your ground venison or wild hog sausage. One pound should yield about four to five dozen one inch balls.
- 1 pound venison sausage
- 3 cups baking mix (Bisquick)
- 4 cups grated cheddar cheese
- Pinch of pepper
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Spray a cooking sheet with cooking spray.
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl with your fingers, crumbling up all the sausage. Form one inch balls, packing them firmly together, then rolling between your hands to form the balls.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, turning the balls halfway through so they can brown evenly.
Serve with jelly, hot sauce, or a mayo and mustard mixture for a quick and easy snack, anytime.
