Looking to pick up some hunting season essentials still? It’s not too late.
Hunting season is near, and if you still need to pick up some essentials, it’s not too late. You still have time to get prepared and pick up these five important items.
1. New Treestands
Haven’t hung your treestands yet? This is a good time to try new types of stands if you are somehow running out (I always feel that way) or if it’s time to upgrade to new and improved stands.
2. Hunting pack
Hunting packs are an essential in today’s world of hunting. Being able to effectively pack everything you need from game calls to water and food allows you to bring everything you need on a hunt in one pack. Hunting packs come in all shapes and sizes, depending on the type of hunting you partake in.
Now a days, it is usually commonplace for hunters to be using a harness. It isn’t only an essential, it should be a requirement to climb in a tree. It’s never to late to pick one up if you don’t have one, or if yours is getting old and worn.
4. Small pruner
You may be asking if this is necessarily a hunting essential. When cutting shooting lanes, I use a pruner three times as much as a saw. The amount of times I’ve climbed into a stand after cutting shooting lanes, and noticed a missed twig is too many to count.
A pruner will quietly and quickly fix that, without the hassle of a saw. If you don’t have one yet, consider purchasing one. They’re cheap, and will make your life a lot easier.
5. Flagging tape
Flagging tape is an essential that I don’t like to go into the field without. I use it in the summer to mark trees for stands, and during the season to mark blood trails. Get it now, so you can always keep it in your pack.
It’s not too late to pick up these five essentials. Hunting season is on the horizon, and by getting these important items, they will help aid you in your hunting efforts.
