What’s More Important, Caliber or Bullet Selection When Hunting Whitetail? [VIDEO]

Luke Hartle discusses caliber, bullet selection, shot placement and more when deciding to pull the trigger on a whitetail buck.

Right on Target is a new weekly target shooting segment for North American Hunting Club. In this inaugural episode, Luke Hartle presents a shooting scenario with a large whitetail buck in shooting range.

There are, however, several variables that need to be considered before deciding whether or not to pull the trigger on the buck.

Hartle discusses the merits of rifle caliber and bullet selection, as well as effective shot placement on a buck that is presenting an almost full frontal shot.

“The key is selecting the right bullet,” Hartle declares before explaining why he believes the Hornaday GMX is an excellent choice for 300-yard and under shots.
