What Giant Fish Ate This Australian Black Marlin?

Australian black marlin eaten by sharks

This giant Australian black marlin was bitten by a much larger fish.

If you’ve seen Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, you know Qui Gon Jinn makes the statement, “There’s always a bigger fish.”

Clearly, these fisherman are thinking the same thing when they pull this estimated 1500-pound Australian black marlin into the boat!

The black marlin remains are gushing blood all over the fishing boat, and these Australian fishermen are left to wonder what bigger fish is out in the ocean.

It could quite possibly have been a particularly big great white shark. It could have also been numerous sharks chomping together. It could be something entirely different. There’s not really an easy way to tell, but one thing is for sure: this enormous black marlin was a simple snack for whatever took a bite out of it.

Will we ever know? The vastness of the ocean is one of the world’s biggest mysteries.
