How Well Do Bismuth Shotgun Slugs Actually Work?

Bismuth shot is a great non-toxic metal for use in waterfowl hunting.

How well would it do as a shotgun slug though?

Taofledermaus shows us with his incredible hand cast bismuth slug testing.

Bismuth has been around for years as a substitute for lead shot in waterfowl hunting.

How would it do as a shotgun slug? Well, Taofledermaus decides to make some slugs up out of pure bismuth. Using another shotgun slug to make a clay mold he uses this to make his experimental bismuth slug.

The cast slugs come out in a somewhat rough but quite usable form.
