So are Thug Slugs as tough as their name?
Ballistic Products has a shotgun slug that is sold especially for shotshell reloaders. Named the Thug Slug, this shotgun slug has a one ounce soft lead slug that has a wad press-fitted into the base.
Taofledermaus, who's one of our talented video contributors here at Wide Open Spaces, loads up some of these interesting shotgun slugs and heads to the range. The soft lead slugs have less penetration than a standard, harder lead hunting slug. This would possibly avoid too much over penetration in a tactical situation.
If you need a bit more reach from your shotgun but standard shotgun slugs have too much penetration, you might want to try the Thug Slug.
