WATCH: Water Snake Goes for a Massive Salamander Surprise

water snake

Here’s a water snake that has its mouth full of salamander and its work cut out for it.

Let the arguing begin, but it looks a lot like this snake has a rare hellbender in its grip. Whatever it is, it’s something the size of which may be too much for the predator that grabbed it.

Watch and see if you can make out what either species is.

It looks simply like a common northern water snake, and as far as the salamander goes there are not many that are that size in North America- the hellbender being one of them.

Whatever the case that snake may have let go long before it got anywhere with that critter. Leave it to snakes, pike, and muskellunge to try and eat things that are 10 times bigger than they are!
