Florida hasn’t had a bear hunt in 20 years; Ted Nugent cashed in on a tag!
Rocker Ted Nugent, best known for his incredible guitar riffs and outspoken advocacy for hunting and gun rights, signed up to be a part of the Florida’s first bear hunt in more than two decades.
The first Florida bear hunt in 20 years was a success.
In two of the four management regions where hunting was allowed, officials ended the hunt even earlier following just one day of hunting, as hunters approached or exceeded regional quotas.
In the eastern Panhandle, hunters far exceeded the 40-bear quota for the season, killing 112 bears, and in the central region, where the limit was set at 100 bears, 139 were killed.
