Watch This Roadrunner Nail a Hummingbird Right Out of the Air

Why, yes, that roadrunner did just nab a hummingbird right out of the air. Here it is in slow motion.

A California wildlife photographer caught the amazing footage one day in his own backyard as a patient, indigenous roadrunner waited for the right moment.

The stunning video is a rare glimpse into the life and death of the natural creatures in the region, and was captured is excellent slow motion.

While the photographer in question, Roy Dunn, was adamant that he did not in any way attract the birds as fodder to be hunted, the fact remains that the diminutive little birds are a natural target for other creatures of the area.

Perhaps a feeder set a bit higher would please the hummer fans out there, but it might not even help. In the natural world, sometimes you're the hummingbird, and sometimes you're the roadrunner.
