A Canadian angler captured this thrilling video of killer whale pod hunting a pack of sea lions near his boat.

Travis Twizell was fishing off the coast of Prince Rupert, B.C. when he spotted a killer whale pod chasing some sea lions behind his boat.  The sea lions tried to use the boat for protection, but the whales wouldn’t let up. Killer whales hunt in groups and use sophisticated formations and strategies to kill their prey. They often target sea lions and seals as prey. Killer whales are common in the coastal regions of the Pacific Northwest, particularly Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. Last August, a massive orca pod was spotted swimming near Galiano Island in British Columbia.
