Let’s all watch as an albino alligator gets a health check up by the South Carolina Aquarium staff.
Oh boy, an albino alligator that resides in the South Carolina Aquarium looks like a heck of a medical patient.
But when the time comes for Alabaster the alligator’s annual exam, the team at the aquarium step up to the task and keep the 19-year-old (yes, 19!) reptile as healthy as possible.
First, they have to take the sedated Alabaster from his tank to an examination table, which in this case is a large wooden crate.
Then they get down to business, with a few measurements, tests, and general poking and prodding. You know, normal physical exam stuff.
According to Discovery.com, the findings revealed little more than some weight gain: Alabaster increased by 20 pounds and 3 inches in the 12 months and is in good health.
And look at how many people it took to get this guy out of the examination crate!
Here’s the full video for you; could you imagine how rare it would be to operate a procedure on an animal like that?
We’ll hopefully be able to check in on Alabaster’s next check up, if his condition remains as good as it is now.
And we’ll also count our blessings that we got to witness an animal like an albino alligator, even if it’s just in .GIF form.
