Where’s the “do not disturb” sign when you need it?
The life of a turkey can be a hard one. Between the constant dust baths, preening, pacing fields and gobbling to and from, they have their work cut out for them. So, we can’t fault our feathered friends for wanting to take the occasional midday snooze. In the case of this hen turkey, it was a slumber so deep that even the mitt of a sympathetic hunter couldn’t rouse her.
Hunter Blakenship shot this cool and unusual video, and as you’re about to see, some wild turkeys aren’t as cautious around humans as they should be. Although, they sure as heck never seem to behave like this when it’s open season.
Here’s the video:

Have you ever had a chance meeting with a turkey like this? I know in my case, I’m lucky to get within 50 yards of one before it scampes off!
Good thing this was Blakenship’s hand and not the mouth of a hungry coyote.
