This Video of Molten Lava Spewing Into the Ocean in Hawaii Will Warm You Right Up

There’s nothing quite like the sight of molten lava flowing over a cliff.

If you’ve ever been fortunate enough to go to the Hawaiian Islands, or anywhere that you might see a lava flow, you’re among the lucky ones.

When you can get close enough to see the lava dripping into the ocean and get footage like this, you’re fortunate to have returned without burns!

At first I was sure that this person was in a kayak or small boat and they were right under the cliff that the lava was spewing over! At the very end it certainly looked as if they were on top of the cliff with a selfie stick of some sort.

Since the temperature of molten lava can be anywhere from 1,000 to 1,250 degrees Celcius (about 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit), getting an up-close look at it is best left to the professionals.

That’s some amazing footage, and just goes to show how much we still don’t know about Mother Earth.
