Hunters who use a shotgun for the firearm deer season know that their range is limited… but that doesn’t mean you can’t take down a buck at 150 yards.
James DooLittle with True Outdoor Addictions in Michigan wasn’t having a very good firearm season. Mature bucks were few and far between. It was getting so bad that his wife had to give him a kick in the pants to grab his shotgun, get out and hunt.
It’s a good thing he listened to his wife that November morning. It may have been frosty, but it wasn’t long before a good nine-point buck made its way through the swamp DooLittle was hunting.
One shot and he dropped the buck where it stood.
It took some effort for him to drag the deer through the tall swamp grass, but after that shot, the struggle was worth it.
