Looking to catch a few more racoons and bobcats this year? A bucket set might be the ticket.
Ask any trapper about one of their favorite raccoon and bobcat sets, and you are likely to hear the words “bucket set.” The bucket set might seem to be as simple as a set comes, and it is a simple set, but there are a few tricks that will make it even more productive.
These techniques will put more fur on the stretchers this trapping season, and for seasons to come. After all, that’s what trapping is all about. Catching fur, and being an excellent conservationist in the process.
Remember, it doesn’t matter how good your set is. If there aren’t animals in the area, you won’t catch them. Scout plenty before the season begins, and when the catch falls off, pick up your sets and move to a new location.
