University Of South Carolina Wins FWC College Fishing National Championship

Two fishermen representing the University of South Carolina just won the 2015 FWC College Fishing National Championship at Lake Murray, South Carolina.

University of South Carolina sophomore Patrick Walters and junior Gettys Brannon just pulled off a come-from-behind victory at the FWC College Fishing National Championship to take home the trophy.

In a premier fishing tournament, most of the participants are fishing experts and it takes special knowledge or skills, along with a little bit of luck, to separate yourself from the pack. Coming into the last day of the tournament in second place, the duo used their familiarity with Lake Murray, which they fish dozens of times each year, to finish strong under some tough conditions.

Check out the video to hear the details of how they managed to pull off the win during this bass fishing tournament.

The duo took home a Ranger Z117 boat and engine along with a $5,000 cash prize for winning the tournament. They also earned a spot in the 2015 Forrest Wood Cup on August 20-23 on Lake Ouachita in Arkansas.

Nice work, guys!
