United States Coast Guard Returns Rehabilitated Seal to Wild

The U.S. Coast Guard released a video of their special mission to release a rehabilitated seal to the wild.

While it’s not completely known why or how the harbor seal ended up in a position to need rehabilitating, the U.S. Coast Guard agreed to help out the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) to help take the rehabilitated seal back to the wild.

Including with the video was the caption that read,

“Saving lives at sea is one of the Coast Guard’s and U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary’s top missions – in fact, on an average day, the Coast Guard saves 10 lives. But it’s not every day #USCG Auxiliary crews get to help PAWS release a rehabilitated harbor seal back into the wild.”

It’s awesome to see this happy little seal head back into its natural habitat instead of remaining in captivity.
