The Underwire on a Woman’s Bra Stopped a Ricochet Bullet in Germany

I’ve heard women complain about how uncomfortable underwires are in bras, but I didn’t know they were strong enough to stop a bullet.

That’s right, in northeastern Germany, a tourist’s bra stopped a bullet.

The woman and her husband were on a bike ride in Mecklenberg-Western Pomerania and didn’t know they were in an area where a boar hunt was taking place.

A bullet that had ricocheted after being fired by one of the hunters hit the woman in the chest. Fortunately, the underwire deflected the bullet.

Many manufacturers use steel to construct a bra’s underwire, which stretches from the center of the chest to the armpit (for all the guys out there who have no idea about underwires, like me).

The tourist walked away from the incident with only some pain and a small bruise after seeing a doctor in the nearby town of Gadebusch.

The hunter might not be so lucky. The Gadebusch Criminal Commission is investigating the incident.
