Trying Out the French World War II MAS-36 Rifle [VIDEO]

France’s MAS-36 rifle of World War II is often forgotten.

This 7.5x54mm military rifle is unlike most other designs. It’s an interesting bolt action rifle with positives, and a few negatives as well.

Watch as this old rifle is given a workout.

While the peep sights are nice, the trigger is not. The bolt handle has a strange angle and it is calibered in the interesting 7.5x54mm cartridge. This load hits the gong target hard at 100 yards away, but that’s only if you can get the rifle to hit.

Love it or hate it, it’s a rich weapon of World War II history.
