This is where getting off the beaten track will put you on some great trout fishing at the Gunnison National Forest in Colorado.

These fishermen move deep into the Gunnison National Forest and accessed some great trout fishing in this well-shot, scenic video.

That is another great example of how putting in the effort with some off-road driving and hiking will get you onto to some great fishing.

The Gunnison National Forest provides excellent land access opportunities, and you may not see any other anglers in the more remote areas. This national forest was established by Theodore Roosevelt in 1905 and its roots trace back to the early days of American conservation efforts to preserve wild places for everyone to enjoy.

The success of these fly fishermen was clearly based on getting away from angler pressure, matching the hatch, and using suitable flies. All these things combined let them reel in some great rainbow and brown trout out of this premier fishing destination.
